Many schools and colleges now have excellent computer facilities for their students. It is not unusual for classes to be scheduled in the computer lab, or for extra sessions to be scheduled for the use of computers to aid learning. More and more students have very good computer skills, and many learners react favorably to doing some of their supervized learning in the computer lab. If you are comfortable using corpus tools to explore language, it is likely that you could pass on this enthusiasm to your students. This unit explores how students can become 'language detectives' and can explore corpora themselves.
