Blakemore Freeman Fellowships for Advanced Asian Study Blakemore Freeman Fellowships fund a year of advanced study of an Asian language in Asia for American citizens and permanent residents of the United States who have a college degree and who plan to use an Asian language in their careers. Jacob K. Javits (JKJ) Fellowship Program U.S. department of Education. The Jacob K. Javits Fellowship Program offers fellowships to eligible graduate students who want to pursue studies in specific fields, including less commonly taught languages (such as Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Hindi, Urdu, Dari, Farsi, Tajiki, Kurdish, Turkish, Azerbaijani/Azeri, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Turkmen, and Uzbek).
