The QuickTime™ Player is required for viewing the video clips contained in the Learning through Listening Materials Bank. CALPER recommends QuickTime™ Version 6.5.x for Windows Operating Systems and Mac OSX (older versions of Quicktime™ may not support the encoding used to create these clips).
The Adobe Acrobat Reader™ is required for viewing the downloadable transcripts contained in the Learning through Listening Materials Bank. CALPER recommends Acrobat Reader™ Version 7.0 for Windows Operating Systems and Mac OSX.
Although viewable via a low-speed Internet connection, our streamed videos are optimized for use with a high-speed (T1/T3, Cable or DSL) connection. Downloadable clips range from 8MB to 32MB, with an average size of approximately 15MB. Due to the size and optimization of these videos, CALPER recommends using a high-speed connection when possible.
