Tracking Language Development with Learner Corpora

Graphic Online Language Diagnostic (GOLD) is a new, freely available online tool developed at CALPER specifically for language teachers and researchers to build, share, and analyze learner corpora, i.e., collections of texts produced by language learners. In this workshop participants will be provided with step-by-step guidance on how to use GOLD’s user-friendly interface to compile their own corpora with meaningful learner and text information, to share corpora with each other, and to search and compare different subsets of texts in their corpora to track and compare aspects of language development of individual students over time or across different students.
