 June 2011 CALPER News Flash

Dear Subscriber,

Thanks to all who participated in our workshops and made this year's series a great success.  The workshop leaders thought that interactions were very fruitful and we all hope that you found the time you spent here inspiring and energizing. Keep in touch!

As many of you heard, the budgets of the Title VI National Language Resource Centers have been severely cut for 2011-2012. Without any doubt having to work with reduced funds will have an effect on what we can achieve during the next year. Nonetheless, we will continue with our plans, even though they might have to be changed somewhat. We invite you to make use of the materials that CALPER created - online chapters, professional development papers, and our web sites. We also remind you that all materials from all of the 15 LRCs can be accessed easily from one site, our common LRC page. If you never visited the site take a look, and if you did not visit it for a while see what is new.

If you are participating in a workshop or a summer institute that is offered by one of our sister LRC programs and is coming up in July and August, we wish you a great professional development event. If you are taking a well deserved break, have a great time.

We'll continue with our News Flash updates in September, but you can still keep in touch with CALPER Tweets and CALPER Facebook and our CALPER Newsblog throughout July and August.

Some of the things we'll work on over the summer...
