On Saturday, October 28, 2017, the Center for Language Acquisition held its first Language Teaching Forum, which CALPER co-sponsored. We welcomed Professor Eileen Glisan (Indiana University of PA) and Professor Richard Donato (University of Pittsburgh), who involved 38 teaching faculty in an engaging six-hour workshop. The topic of the workshop was on "High-leverage Teaching Practices", on which Glisan and Donato recently published a book in one of ACTFLs book series. The participants came from University Park campus and several of Penn State's branch campuses. Faculty travel was supported by the College of the Liberal Arts at University Park.
