Dorothy H. Evensen (Ph.D. in Applied Psychology, New York University, 1991) is Professor of Education and presently serves as Professor-in-Charge of the Program in Higher Education. Her research focuses on teaching, learning, and evaluation in professional contexts such as medicine, law, education, and engineering. She has co-edited two volumes on educational practices: Problem-based learning: A research perspective on learning interactions (with Cindy Hmelo, Erlbaum, 2000), and Reconsidering the role of university-based reading clinics in the new age of literacy (with Peter Mosenthal, JAI Press, 1999). In addition, she has authored numerous journal articles including "A qualitative study of six medical students in a problem-based curriculum: Toward a model of situated self-regulation," which appeared in the Journal of Educational Psychology in 2001. Dorothy Evensen is a member of the Center for the Study of Higher Education at Penn State and has collaborated on evaluation studies conducted by the Center.
